Mythology Cards — Elon Musk

The Ultimate goal with this piece was to create a deck of 12 cards representing a well-known, non-fictional person who is considered either a hero or villain in our eyes. The person I chose was Elon Musk which I decided upon due to his complex character, as well as the many polarizing opinions on him in today’s pop culture. After choosing him the next task was to dig deeper and research everything about him including his family, early life, interests, accomplishments, relationships, etc. The step after this, probably the most thought provoking, was to take aspects of his morale as well as his physical form to create 12 symbolic visuals to convey his persona, such as which planet, color, or animal, etc. best represents him, or I decided to go with a retro design style, combining a darker tech aesthetic with a lighter solarpunk style, which ties back to the polarizing persona of Elon Musk. All together this project gave me a better understanding of semiotics and how to coincide them based on one person.
